When I was in high school I had the opportunity to go to Spain for three weeks with my Spanish class. Unfortunately, I can't remember any of my Spanish now, but it was an amazing trip. While in Toledo, we took a break from looking at so many awesome swords and I noticed that they had really cool trash cans in one of the parks. So I snapped a quick picture of it. Then I found another really cool looking can. It then became my thing. I have a whole album waiting to be scanned in that spans from that trip in 1995 to now. Every city I visited I was always on the lookout for a new design or a clever way to see the trash cans. The one attached is rather recent, from a trip about a year ago when I took my Mom to LA for a day. In many of them I try to get a shot of a landmark that identifies the city, but that is not always possible. I was in Washington, DC in the summer of 2002 and they had made sure that there were no trash cans within sight of any monument. I didn't come away with any good photographs from that trip. But San Antonio was a great city as all the trash cans along the river walk were half hidden in foliage.
